Intention to use CCAM

For the groups of people with mobility challenges, the intention to use CCAM vehicles, when they become publicly available is lowest for Digitally non-connected people, followed by the Elderly, while Single parents show the highest share of intention. The share of undecided and clear statements of “no intention to use” is also largest for the Digitally non-connected and Elderly people.

Regarding the requirements of acceptability:

  • for Elderly people: Half of the Elderly people participating in the SINFONICA online survey indicated that they intend to use CCAM vehicles when they become publicly available. At the same time, around one-third are undecided, and around 19% have no intention to use CCAM vehicles.
  • for Young people: Most (67%) of Young people participating in the SINFONICA online survey indicated they intend to use CCAM vehicles when they become publicly available. Only around 18% are undecided, and 15% have no intention to use CCAM vehicles.
  • for People from rural areas: The majority (60%) of People living in rural areas participating in the SINFONICA online survey indicated that they intend to use CCAM vehicles when they become publicly available. Only around one-fifth are undecided, while another one-fifth have no intention to use CCAM vehicles.
  • for People with a migration background: The majority (72%) of People with migration backgrounds participating in the SINFONICA online survey indicated that they intend to use CCAM vehicles when they become publicly available. Only around 16% are undecided, and 12% have no intention to use CCAM vehicles.
  • for Single parents: Around three-quarters (74%), the majority of Single parents participating in the SINFONICA online survey indicated that they intend to use CCAM vehicles when they become publicly available. Only around 16% are undecided, and 9% have no intention to use CCAM vehicles.
  • for Women: The majority (63%) of Women participating in the SINFONICA online survey indicated that they intend to use CCAM vehicles when they become publicly available. Around 22% are undecided, and 14% stated no intention to use CCAM vehicles.
  • for LGBTQIA+ people: The majority (70%) of LGBTQIA+ people participating in the SINFONICA online survey indicated they intend to use CCAM vehicles when they become publicly available. Around 14% are undecided, and 14% stated no intention to use CCAM vehicles.
  • for People with low income: The majority (62%) of People with low income participating in the SINFONICA online survey indicated that they intend to use CCAM vehicles when they become publicly available. Around 22% are undecided, and 16% stated no intention to use CCAM vehicles.

  • for People with physical disabilities: The majority (56%) of People with physical disabilities participating in the SINFONICA online survey indicated that they intend to use CCAM vehicles when they become publicly available. Over one-quarter (26%) are undecided, and 18% stated no intention to use CCAM vehicles.
  • for People with mental disabilities: The majority (57%) of People with cognitive disabilities participating in the SINFONICA online survey indicated that they intend to use CCAM vehicles when they become publicly available. Nearly one-quarter (24%) are undecided, and 19% stated no intention to use CCAM vehicles.
  • for Digitally non-connected people: Of the Digitally non-connected people participating in the SINFONICA online survey, more than one-third (38%) indicated that they are undecided about using CCAM vehicles when they become publicly available. Another 36% stated an intention to use, while more than one-quarter (26%) stated no intention to use CCAM vehicles

Note: categories are not distinct; one person can be in multiple groups. The group ‘others’ are participants who are not in any of the other categories. Low-income persons are only from UK, DE, GR, and NL.

Note: these data distributions are not weighted, therefore one individual can be part of different groups: e.g., an elderly woman who is not digital savvy can be part of the ‘elderly’ group, of the ‘women’ group and of the ‘digitally unsavvy’ group.
